It is a “flat” hot rolled wire design that drastically reduces oscillation, dramatically prevents valve bounce which loses horsepower, and valve float at higher rpm's. 

This design greatly improves the life of the valves and seats, improves performance, and current tests show no fatigue even after 40 hrs of use. Flat wire design offers many advantages in full lift design, no more over working the spring causing fatigue (especially useful in performance cams).
